GIS 4043 Module 3 ArcGIS Collector Lab

GIS 4043 Week 3

This week's lab consisted of two parts: data collection and projections. In the first section of the lab, we had to create a public safety map of the UWF campus on ArcGIS pro and then export that map to ArcGIS online to enable us to collect data on an app called Collector. I chose to collect my public safety data on the stop signs around the campus. I chose five stop signs around campus and took photos of those signs and labeled whether or not the stop signs were in Excellent, Fair, or Poor condition. The next step after the collection was to export the collected data to Google Earth and take a screenshot of the data displayed around campus in their selected conditions. The next part of the lab was projection. This part of the lab took the longest to do. It incorporated techniques that were used in our cartography lab and looking up attributes and metadata. If I am honest I did not enjoy this lab as much as I enjoyed the beginning of the public safety part. Figuring out how to fix some of my errors on my own was a bit more challenging than I previously thought. However, the ending layout turned out great and I am satisfied with my product.
